The Printmaker's Essential (DIGITAL) Paper Collection
As an illustrator and printmaker for many years, I am fortunate to have discovered, sampled and collected a fine range of papers and surfaces to make marks on! I have scoured old used book shops. I have found stocks of blank, vintage paper in charity shops. I have bought hand-made sketchbooks and papers made from a variety of plant fibres from sellers on my travels across the world.
This collection is designed for artists that are seeking fine, exotic and vintage digital paper/surfaces to work. As close to the real thing as you will get!
I have scanned each piece at 1200dpi, saved as a TIFF file, delivered to you as a downloadable ZIP file. These will give you -
- The highest level of true-to-life, natural detail - showing the fibre and variation in colours that emerge during the process of making these fantastic papers.
- The ability to blend your digital inks and paints with the natural look of the paper, making use of the paper's texture and depth.
- Real depth, layering, faded areas and true ink variation across the surface.
This fantastic collection also includes -
- A commercial licence made for working artists, illustrators, and creatives.
Don't forget to tag me or email me your creations using these papers. I am always interested!
But - what's included I hear you ask? Well...
Natural Cotton Rag
Grey Slate - natural grey tones, slightly blue hue and a fluffy, fibrous finish.
Terracotta - Earth toned, less fibrous but an interesting textured finish.
Beige/Cream - Smoother finish but some nice indents and imperfections adding character.
Plant-Specific
Darkest Hyacinth - a blend of dark green and deep brown accents brought out by the dark flecks and fibres themselves.
Lemongrass - Unfortunately for you, I have the nice smelling version, you won't. But you will get one of the best grains I have seen. Enjoy!
Wild Barley - Again, fantastic grain, slightly less variations in colour, but an even tone, which could be suited to a whole range of designs.
Dark Japanese Rice Paper - Some superb creases in this, and some subtle tonal changes that really set this surface off!
And -
Recycled Seagrass - Some lovely green flecks, nice fibres. Subtle but effective.
Recycled Jungle Waste - The specifics of this blend aren't available to me, but it doesn't smell bad. Promise. Zoom in, see the details - so many ideas!
